History Established in 1882. Back in 1882, Southside was first started by William J. Moon selling fresh meats door-to-door from the back of a wagon. In 1886 Southside's first store front was established in Elgin, TX and we've been selling Sausage and Authentic Barbeque ever since. In 1968 Southside was purchased by Ernest & Rene Bracewell.
