Called 911 for help with lifting my Dad they suggested calling EMS. A team of 3 arrived at his house, lifted him and calmed him down. Great experience till I got a bill for $753 for lifting him up and chatting to him. I believe I made the mistake of letting them take his vitals. That makes him a patient and medicare does not cover this! Beware. Feel swindled.
Service was excellent and very fast. Why I give it a one star is because of the bill i received. $1806.00 for Transport to hospital (about 7 miles) As they are not in my bcbs network this has to be paid totally out of pocket. And i was told that Ems are usually not in any insurance network. Therefore they can charge anything they want. This is so wrong! Total abuse. This charge is outrages. I guess rate doubles or triples depending which neighborhood you are living in!
Mercy Ambulance is absolute trash. Not only do they take a long time( in my case 25 min) to get to you. I don't think they are trained to do more than drive the ambulance. They have even dropped my mother. And instead of picking her back up they just dragged her the 5 more feet to the gurney. They all need to be fired and never allowed to work in medicine or EMT ever again. If it was possible to give a zero rating I would.
Terrible workers!!! The lady and guy who came to our friends house couldn’t carry the person DOWN THE STAIRS! His husband and my boyfriend has to help them get him on the gurney, That’s your job!!!!! When you tell them someone is struggling to breath you RUN you don’t walk slow as possible through the home!! They also Misdiagnosed him saying he would be fine and to take him to the er, the man was having a seizure and they UNBUCKLED the board they had him one!
