Had some great brisket and some awesome sausage. This place is good virtually every time I'm in there.
I am in town often, love how kind the women who work here are. As well as they have all mastered the art of BBQ plate preparation. You dont see that often in a bbq place. Unique and extremely well priced with no sass!
The food was excellent! The ribs and brisket were cooked perfectly and were delicious as they were served with no sauce. That being said, all the sauces are homemade and delicious. All the sides were homemade and amazing! You’ve got to try the collard greens. This plate was $28. The service was great, but I left four stars because the drinks are self serve. It’s nice to have someone fill up your cup while dining in and that is not the case here.
Someone once described a good meal to me as making your tongue slap your forehead. I may have messed it up in translation but if it is something that can happen it will happen here at the Southport Smoke House. It was hands down the happiest my stomach was my whole trip to Wilmington and I ate a lot of great food, but you can’t beat good southern bbq and this is some of the best I’ve had.
