We recently ordered from Southern Standard Catering for our Southwest Presbyterian Church Sunday group dinner, and the experience was outstanding. The lasagna was a huge hit—several people commented that it was "the best they'd ever had!" Vince, the owner, communicated clearly throughout the process and made ordering simple and stress-free. I highly recommend Southern Standard Catering for any event where you need to feed a crowd.
We coordinated with them for an event at a venue that they served before. They were highly recommended by a friend. They stood up the venue manager on the day they were supposed to check out the venue. Then, they started the yelling and screaming game. When a volunteer asked " Do we need to find another caterer" they said " No the event is a go we will call you latter as we are busy now"- we called maybe 3-4 times and every time was " we will call latter" and that was after they provided the quote. Poor communication. I called to follow up on a request and left a couple of voice mails and a call was never returned.
We wanted a quiet but quality meal at home for my wife's birthday with our closest friends... my wife was 2 weeks postpartum so we really wanted something special. Southern Standard delivered and then some. Everything was taken care of--food, plating, menu, and service. full turnkey with no points off in any category. and I've never been able to get my kitchen as clean as they did after our meal. A truly special experience and will be using again. If I could give 10 stars I would.
Southern Standard absolutely knocked it out of the park at our party. From the very beginning, everything about the experience felt first class, and the food was truly outstanding. It was honestly hard to choose a menu because everything looked so good. Now that we have tasted it, I am convinced you really cannot go wrong. Everything has to be delicious.
