Been in the er for a good 3 hours to get seen
It’s no wonder that all I’ve heard for the past 10 years of living in this area from my own patients is how: “disgraceful” Southern is and also that they “almost killed me.” Never understood, but I guess I (unfortunately) had to experience it for myself as a patient during a very vulnerable time, to really understand the message.
I went to the ER for the second time on March 1st around 5pm for kidney stones. I want to give special praise and recognition to Risa at check in for her empathy and kindness during my wait time. Triage took 1 hour (which is fine, it was very busy.) However, when I asked the woman at the check-in desk for an ETA, and telling her my pain was worsening, she seemed she couldn't have cared less and said "we don't have a list of who is next." I came in after having seizures and possible spinal fluid leaks from a brain tumor and was denied any help or testing and was told to just find a neurologist. Colin O'Brien was the doctor who rudely dismissed me and discharged me without any concerns.
