EDIT: Updated my review. Turns out I was incorrectly reviewing my bill online. Why does viewing an old bill, also show the current bill information? No one knows. For a Co-op, these people love screwing their customers over. *UPDATE* I had question about billing but their customer service system isn’t taking calls. No call back option. No option to wait. Called to make a payment, Did not have my account number on me So I called to get help . Lady would not help me without the account number this is crazy!!! I called before had no problems but now there's no to verify me with social security number or sum thing?? Total bullshit
Do not use SMECO if you have any other options. This company is greedy, disorganized, and dishonest. I called just to help my boyfriend set up his electric service — and SMECO took it upon themselves to merge my old balance of $512.49 onto his brand new account. We are dating, yes, but we do not live together. I do not reside and they were provided a copy of his lease clearly proving that. Despite this, they went ahead and combined our accounts anyway.
