This is a wonderful nursery that stocks a wide variety of native plants. The staff is friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. It's a small business, owned by women veterans, which is a plus to me, and the prices were better than I saw at the big stores. Their plants are beautiful healthy. Last fall, I bought plant plugs from them, and all of them made it through an unusually cold winter. It is well worth the hour drive from the Peninsula and I will go there again when it's time to stock up.

Southern Branch Nursery is a true hidden gem and an absolute must-visit for anyone interested in native plants. This veteran woman-owned nursery has an incredible selection, beautifully laid out grounds, and a mission rooted in sustainability and habitat restoration. I contacted Wild Works of Whimsy to solve a few problem areas in my yard. The back and sides were long and narrow and with a slope, and the back was full south facing. I had a difficult time getting anything to live there besides Bermuda grass and I was tired of mowing. The yard was very ugly. Absolutely loved my visit!! So many varieties of native plants and there were Monarch butterflies flitting around! Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Will be my go-to nursery 🌼

Except for the distance to get out to their location, they are a specialized nursery for native plants. They have a wide selection of plants native to our state and region. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They are also willing to give you suggestions on plants to suit the location and your need. Just wish they had a closer location to the city centers.
