I contracted Southeastern Marine Power to survey my engines and to repair findings. In both cases, the initial bill was 30% higher than quoted estimate. They said the survey quote did not include travel, and they did not have good explanation for the repairs. We subsequently agreed to 15% increase over quote for the repairs.
