My experience with SVS was limited to Dr. Rose & Stephen LeMarie and the hospital staff there. I couldn't have asked for better care for my little Italian greyhound that was diagnosed with skin cancer (hemangiosarcoma). Both Dr. Rose & Stephen were very compassionate and caring professionals. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE I brought my cat there for a CT and was advised he needed surgery to remove a polyp in his nasal cavity (we were assured it was a routine surgery -nothing to worry about) Paid roughly $650 for CT and $1900 for surgery (that we had to borrow). Got a call saying my cat was fine after surgery. Later got a call that when they went in to check on him that he wasn't breathing and had died. This place does everything in their power to run up the bill. They gave my dog a shot of diphenhydramine which is just Benadryl. They billed me $17 dollars for it when they could have just given him a Benadryl pill for less than 5 cents. They also tried to add on a prescription for my dog that was $105. They didn't even ask me if I wanted to fill it there. They just went ahead and billed it and then they told me they couldn't take it off the bill because they didn't know how to do that in the computer.

I used this group once several years ago and will never go back. I had the most horrible experience with my cat in their hands. I've also heard of others with bad experience. I feel very sorry for pets that end up there, especially for procedures that require close post-op monitoring. The services are not worth the price, much less the risk for your pet.
