Do not bring your boat here. Just had a 100 hour service on a Suzuki 200 and they charged $1,902. When asked why it was so much they needed two people working on the boat at the same time doubling there $165/hour rates. I called around to other local marinas after the fact and they all charges half that price. Total rip off. Go elsewhere.
My steering broke on my sailboat. Initially I went to the big boat yard in Portland renown for their mechanical abilities so I could hopefully get it fixed and salvage the rest of my season. After their assessment, we learned that the steering manufacturer had gone out of business and parts were not available. A new and expensive steering system could not be installed to replace it because of the nature of how the boat cockpit was designed. Couldn’t install a shaft in four weeks, and still she sits.
Very friendly marina staff. Adequate docks and facilities. The service department is a bunch of crooks! They are wildly over prices and the way we were treated, I will never go back. Portland Yacht Service, across the river, is less than half the price, and they give great service. It’s unfortunate the owner, Kip, has such an attitude. Maybe if he pisses enough people off, he may change is ways. But at this rate, he’ll go out of business.
