This is in regard to and experience I had with Debbie Wood on 21 October, 2023. I am 78 years old and was on hwy 81 in Wythe, Virginia. I lost control of my car when I hit the guardrail on the left, careened across two lanes and hit the guard rail on the right side of the highway totaling my car. So, a few of the negative comments are past members who caused issues and were unprofessional. The current group of members work hard and treat each other like the family they are. SMFD is well respected with neighboring departments. So much so towns in and out of Wayne county call us when they need assistance. We are happy to serve the community and more.
