Received engine and it was not well right out of box...had put premium reman injectors on previous engine and they had very few miles but was working very well before head gasket went...figured with as many miles as I had on the old engine and all the parts that had been replaced over the last year or so buying a reman block was a no brainer...so we went to trouble shooting looking for a reason that it wasn't feeling good but every mechanic said they could find no reason and it was fine...well less than 10,000 miles I have a... read more

I own an auto repair shop. I ordered an engine from South Houston engine. Initially I was told the core charge was $1200 but when I ordered the engine they insisted it was $1500. The engine I received was top notch, proffesionaly built and worked fantastic. However, When I sent the core back, I did not get the core charge refunded in a few days. I called and was told it would take 5-10 business days to process the refund. After 12 BUSINESS DAYS I called and was told it MIGHT be there on the 13th business day. I find this ver... read more

DO NOT go here they are selling used engines as re-maunufactured and if you find out all they can say is they never have a problem with their engines it is the installers fault. This engine looked at by 3 different mechanics all have the opinion that it was a high mileage block cleaned up and sold as re-maunufactured. This engine is very badly worn to the point that the block is not even buildable. If you use this company you will be really sorry

Engine lasted 400 Miles. Main Bearing Failure. Warranty denied because we requested labor and they did not want to pay it. JD said he would gladly give us a engine had we not wanted labor but due to the labor claim he was not. Now the engine had lack of lubrication. So if you don't want money for your time they cover it but otherwise no. Rebuilt was the way to go! Thank you South Houston Engine for taking the time to answer all of my questions and getting my engine ready quickly. Very pleased and will definitely recommend you to everyone....just passed 4500 miles on my rebuilt engine, drives like new.

Great overall experience with South Houston Engine! We were pleased with their communication throughout the process and have had no problems with our 7.3 power stroke since. They were great to work with and we are very happy!
