Excellent fishing, food and staff! Everyone was very welcoming. The lodge was a great mix of comfort and luxury. The main chef, JD, was beyond amazing. His skills compete with top chefs around the country. Fishing was excellent. My husband and I were amazed by the quality and quantity of fish we caught. Awesome trip! Jon and Tony were fantastic guides on the river and great hosts at the lodge. Excellent get away. I would (and already have) recommend this as a destination for anyone who needs some time in the outdoors.
Absolutely the best fly fishing lodge I have been to. Accommodations, food, and staff are wonderful...upscale all around. Guides are amazing as well. Ask for John as your guide if he is available. Best day of fishing I have experienced!

An amazing stay at South Holston River Lodge. The staffs hospitality was unmatched. They all seem like family. Chef Thomas prepared awesome meals (and Lynn and Ron also for breakfast). Fishing was the best of our lifetime. Our fishing guide was Adam and his patience with us and instruction/teaching was the best that we have received in 22 years. Hated to leave and will definitely be back!
Wow! I have lived in Bristol my whole life, and this is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen here. Absolutely beautiful!
The South Holston River Lodge is a great experience. I've been lucky enough to spend time there twice this year, the first on a summer fishing trip with friends and the second a business trip early in December. Both trips were excellent, however for completely different reasons. Summertime is warm weather and great fishing on either the Watauga or the South Holston, and in the winter we had really good luck on the Holston.
