Update to the reply: I requested a call from Dr. Verne to go over this and never got the call back. Neither is it a law in Florida to do heart worm testing every year especially if a dog is on preventatives. I was going to come in January for her rabbies shot when it was due and have the physical done then. Having her come in August when that was one year after her heart worm test , was just unnecessary. Dr Verne has been great compassionate and caring and her vet tech Raul are only reason I gave this review 3 stars. They’re great love pets and are very knowledgeable. The office staff however … impossible to deal with and just look for you to come in for unnecessary visits just to bill you. My dog Winnie was seen by this vet a few times and as recently as August 2025, and up to date with all vaccines (3 year rabies due 01/2027) and is on monthly preventatives. I’ve been bringing both of my babies to SFAH for years and they’ve always been thorough, kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They’ve taken care of my babies on countless occasions and it’s really great to have them in the neighborhood. Great care at this office… thank you!
I’ve been going to South Federal Animal hospital since I moved to Florida 6 years ago. They have the best Drs that are caring and thorough and compassionate. They care for my pet just like family. Dr Stelljis & Dr Verne are wonderful! The assistants Reilly & Raul and the front desk Jules are so helpful and caring too. I would never think of taking my pet to a different hospital.
