My son had a seizure at school and the nurse called 911. His dad arrived at the same time as the ambulance service. My son was conscous at that point and did not require transport to the hospital. The EMT's never assessed, gave medication or took a vital sign. His dad treated him and took him home. We received a bill for $490 for and ALS assessment. I want to share an experience that I had dealt with SCEMS! I will not give details of incident and or details if what happened but to be witness to their actions and demeanor! There was an motorcycle accident on Oct 25th Wednesday about between 2:30 and 3pm give or take, at the intersection of paxtang and Derry street I believe! Don't call them! My husband was in severe pain so we called 911 in Harrisburg PA. People who work for South Central EMS arrived after twenty minutes or longer. Quite a long time for a potential emergency. They looked at him. He ultimately decided not to go to the hospital since it was a holiday and he felt he wasn't so bad as to prevent the EMS people from helping others in more dire need.
