If you have a true emergency that is at all time sensitive, go to VEG down the street. If you need a specialist or a multidisciplinary team to evaluate your dog on a less urgent basis (and you have quite a bit of money to spend) SAVES is a great option. Like many other reviews mention, they are indeed extremely slow moving and expensive. But my dog has a very complex medical history and SAVES has successfully helped treat some of her more complicated issues between the multiple specialities there.

Dr. Stafford was wonderful. She explained my cat’s condition and provided much needed information for us to decide our next step. She gave us as much time as we needed and answered all our questions. She also seems very compassionate. Something I want when leaving my pet in someone else’s hands.

Dr. Megan Caiazzo is an excellent surgeon and saved my pet's life. It was a tricky surgery and I was nervous, but she assured me she had a plan after viewing the CT scan and everything turned out just as she said it would. The staff was very attentive and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Caiazzo and SAVES. Attached is a photograph of my dog 6 days after surgery. He is doing so well and we are all very grateful to SAVES and Dr. Caiazzo.

Our 3 yr old terrier was hurting, scared, could hardly move - and didn’t want to be moved or even touched (we had to transport him in his crate). They immediately put us at ease and got him back to triage quickly. I don’t know what veterinary magic was involved, but they had him up & walking in minutes. By the time we left SAVES, he was back to his normal happy, healthy self! They were also quick to follow up with us (& his regular vet), checking his progress - which remained positive.
