Back in July my 2003 Ford F350 7.3 transmission crapped out on me while towing a 24' boat. I knew that the 4R100 was a weak link in the truck. Long story short, after researching transmission shops in my area, I ended up calling Gene at Sound Diesel Performance in Auburn. He built an upgraded bullet proof transmission for me. I cannot say enough good things about Gene and his shop. I had a turbo boot blow off on way to a jobsite in the morning. The work truck I was driving absolutely had to be back in the road to tow a large trailer or I’d potentially lose the job and income. I cold called sound diesel on a prayer. I couldn’t be happier about my experience with Gene and his team at Sound Diesel. I took my Excursion to him in a sad state and had it returned to me better than ever! Gene was very clear about what was needed, communicated throughout the whole process including sending pictures and videos of everything torn down, and did everything for a fair price. I’ll be back for all of my ongoing Power Stroke needs.
Amazing experience with Sound Diesel & Gene! I called Gene on Monday telling him my F350 threw a code & explaining what I was experiencing with my truck. He said he wouldn't have to look at it until Wednesday morning. I showed up Wednesday morning expecting him diagnose the code & schedule the repair. You can tell right away that he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his customers. What stood out most was the honesty, transparency, and communication throughout the whole process.
