I am a military dependent that is a resident of a Georgia. . My mother has been with Sound Credut union for over 7 years. My mother recently experienced a heart attack, I flew into town to assist with her care. We went into Sound Credit Union to have a financial power attorney nortirized so that I could handle her finances. Officially one of my worst bank experiences ever! Running a business is hard work... Banking with Sound makes it harder!!! I've been a good standing customer for 11 years. I have an excellent credit rating and pay bills on time. Sadly Sound Credit Union is tarnishing my record with my vendors. They are holding funds 9 days...and apparently longer... even though I have NEVER deposited a bad check... Now, my vendors are receiving "bad checks" when they shouldn't be... As a member of this credit union since 2009, they have been extremely fair, credible and trustworthy. Heather, a loan representative, was exceptionally thorough and genuine. Sound is a great bank. A family bank in my humble opinion.

I do not recommend Sound Credit Union. I've been in good standing with them for over 20 years. I recently had a situation where I was not informed about the going into arrears, due to divorce decree stating my ex was responsible for the balance. The statements went to my ex's address. I was not notified by mail, email or phone. I didn't know about the situation until it was almost into collections, I was alerted by credit karma. mt The difference I see is Sound Credit Union is not a bank if they were they would pay taxes as the banks do. No wonder they are suppose to be non-profit
Online banking flaws I agree that Sound Credit Union is an awesome bank and that the employees are excellent compared to the other banking institutions out there. I have been a member for over 6 years. However, when it comes to monitoring your transactions online, there is a lot of room for growth. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is the level of difficulty required to follow your transactions.
