I first met Juan when he was traveling from Los Angeles 1-2 time a month to donate his time to repair instruments and bows for a non-profit organization FAYM to help underprivileged kids learn violin, viola, & cello. He was paying his own gas and not even charging for materials. Then I discovered that he learned is craft from Robert Cauer and worked in that shop for about 24 years. I was really impressed.
