Unfortunately, my experience at Sota Soul in Saint Paul was extremely disappointing. The food was absolutely horrible—poor taste, disappointing quality, and not worth the money at all. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I couldn’t. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this place.
Delicious food and wonderful people working the restaurant! The catfish was crispy yet moist, and the breading had fantastic flavor. The red beans and rice were to die for. A spot you got to check out for sure.
If you're looking for authentic soul food, look no further. Food was great. Drinks were great. Fish was nice and fresh. Greens were solid. Stuffing had good texture. The cake was great. If I were to improve the experience, I'd maybe recommend adding a water station.
Never again. The food was tasteless; unseasoned chicken and fish. The dressing taste spoiled. I wasted my money.
