Be VERY careful when considering hiring Sam Sorensen. The amount of damage he did while working as a Guardian Ad-Litem for my kids is only now being undone after a year. He refused interviews, updates and was negligent in trying to determine what’s best for the kids. Luckily, as soon as he resigned from the case, things turned around and my kids are safe and happy. Based on my experience, I would never recommend Sam Sorensen as a Guardian ad Litem. In my opinion, his representation was deeply concerning and, in my view, extremely harmful. We were not as fortunate as some other families who had a good custody evaluator intervene or who were able to have Sam removed from their case. The impact on my children and me feels irreparable. In my experience, his representation of my children was deeply disturbing and, in my view, extremely harmful. This one star review is for PGAL, Sam Sorensen. Overcharged for rediculous items, and added no value. Minimal effort to collect a check, and poor judgement. In the end, God knows. Thank heavens for Anna Trupp, our custody evaluator. She came through for us in the end. Think about a custody evaluator over a PGAL, is my recommendation. Especially if you have parents on the other side involved in various versions of substance abuse.
