In May 2025, Dr. Sonya Wakil was called by the mother’s defense team as their star expert witness and subpoenaed to provide medical documentation for a custody court case. She accidentally released both the child’s medical records and some the mother’s personal medical records, which were submitted as evidence in the child custody case.
