I live in a remote rural site 3 hrs from Tucson and had a SQ blood draw at the Alvernon SQ office after a surgery consult in preparation for surgery one week later. The phlebotomist (Edna) failed to comply with all the requests on my doctor's order. My choices now are an additional trip 6-hr round-trip to Tucson (with broken vertebra and arm) before surgery or finding a driver to pick me up in the middle of the night to have blood drawn 4 hrs before surgery. This pleasant and extremely young girl, pretty sure her name was Kennedy, came to save the day. She was only 18 and she got my vein on her first try! I was so proud of her! I also really liked the hand soap designed for health care professionals in the bathroom. It was great getting your hands “surgeon quality” clean! The location was remote and hidden so it was not a long wait at all, even without an appointment.
