We stopped in Sonny's BBQ last Friday and had a great experience. First I wanted a dark beer while at the bar, and a young server named Colby working the host stand suggested trying the Amber. Later we sat in the dining room and Colby was our server. He was very knowledgeable and personable and knew the menu well. He checked back with us often even though they were super busy. Food was good, if not exceptional, but for the price and portion we had no complaint. The only issue is that we ordered ahead online and when we picked up our single dinner and full appetizer, the waitress at curbside pickup complained when we asked for a second plate and plasticware saying “well, you only ordered one dinner.”
I made a pick up order online. I notified them by their online option of when I was on the way and when I arrived. I waited 10 minutes and never received my food. I noticed the car next to me had to go inside to get their food because no one came to deliver via curbside. I finally went inside to find the cashier playing towel tug-of-war with a (assumed) male coworker while my food was sitting bagged on the shelf behind her. Of course, my food was cold. Shayla provided exceptional customer service. Ordered brisket grilled cheese and Mac and cheese for side with some down home sweet tea. No wait during lunch, though restaurant was close to 70% capacity. Food was delicious, ate it all. Other customers made comment about how good it looked. Family friendly atmosphere provided quality conversation with other customers. I frequent when driving near interstate.
