Classic Southern Bar-B-Que Sonny's is a classic. Although a large chain, each location has a well trained wait staff, fast service, and wonderful smoked meats. Details are on the corporate website. http://www.sonnysbbq.com/ The prices are better than reasonable and there is a discount for old-timers. A particular bargain is an quarter pound order of sliced pork, turkey, or beef.
Real Southern BBQ Barbecue with lots of sauce can be found at Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q. The bread is also outstanding also. You can get your BBQ with or without the bones and it is just as good.

my experience at sonnys viera all around not good...food took forever and came out cold. the table and sauce bottles were sticky and dirty. the tea was sour and spoiled and the service was just horrible...they need better and more friendly staff...

Sonny's gets a lot right. I would recommend this place to almost anyone. The pulled chicken/pork tastes great with the 4 BBQ sauces you can choose from. The side dishes are all delicious; the sweet potato and macaroni and cheese especially. You also get corn bread or garlic bread (both are good). All of the food tastes very good. It's always prepared correctly. The portions are large (for example, you get two pieces of bread with your meal usually), but not overkill. Red Tinge is A GOOD THING! I find it funny that another reviewer stated that Sonny's isn't real barbeque, and then complained that it has a red tint to it. Any idiot (though apparently not that idiot) who knows anything about smoked meat knows that the red is called a smoke ring, and it is a coveted indicator of the smoke process. Liquid smoke isn't used to give a smoked flavor... it is actually smoked. It isn't like they are trying to fool you, just go outside and take a whiff... that's the scent of smoked meat!
