Don't waste your time or money with any somerville recreation unless is free. Very unstructured, unorganized and discouraging to even involve your kids in. Whether is a Tennis 101 class or an intro to any sports... they let anyone enroll even if the kids is part of the Soccer team or already had classes and is past the beginner stage. The kids that are learning get push aside and the kids that know how to play are given more attention and discourage the kids that are learning. Not enough clinics/recreational stuff for teenagers. They were better years ago.
My family has been involved with all the wonderful employees of Somerville Recreation for at least 7 years- from Tot Time to Somertime Day program to many of their awesome camps: basketball, tennis, canoe, art etc etc. I have personally worked closely with Alicia Querusio, Jeremy Vallesio and Ryan Chambers. These 3 individuals (amongst many others) have been nothing but professional, compassionate and empowering.
