Soldiers Sailors Marines Club

About this business

This is a place that needs to be avoided. It has nothing to do with a hotel. Although they advertise on Booking.com this is a very low budget hostel with limited facilities. As my booking was cancelled by Booking.com, I made a direct deal with the hotel. On arrival, the tragedy starts immediately. Ms. Jessica at the reception is talented in destroying your good holiday mood with 90 seconds. Independent what has been agreed by phone, she asks immediately $50 more than agreed. It's cheap and in the heart of NYC! – You get what you pay for. If you're traveling alone you'll likely get a roommate. The beds are tiny and it's an older hotel. They're in the process of remodeling some bathrooms (as of August 2010). The best part is that it's in the heart of NYC and I only paid $50/ night (you pay by rank/pay grade). Also, they allow service members from NATO countries to stay! I've traveled Europe a bit and it's sort of hostel style with community bathrooms/showers and possible roommates. They serve bage... read more

Good place for a soldier to stay – This place serves its purpose admirably. I stayed here multiple times in the lastr decade, and its the best place for a serviceman on a budget to stay.
