We have stayed here three times in different types of rooms and loved it every time. Staff is friendly and informative, location is lovely, and the facilities are great.
A nice, cozy cabin with a beautiful view of Lake Superior and a staff that stays out of the way. Loved our five days there. Only thing of note (and not worth detracting a star or anything over) is that the site is on well water, which some people don't like, so they give you a gallon of filtered water for drinking when you arrive as a courtesy.
Friendly warm welcoming. Cute gift shop cozy main guest cabin w/ games to borrow and neat historical items! beautiful patio walk out to the camp area with bonfire pit, grills, firewood pile, and a swingset play area. soft blankets they placed on the bed(top notch cozy, not your regular hotel blankets)my room had a travelers log for people to sign and leave messages from the years before.
We stayed in cabin 5 for ten days in June and loved it. Will definitely be back to this resort. The cabin is right on Lake Superior, so we enjoyed the “lake effect” during our stay. (80° away from the lake, 60° on the lake.) Cabin 5 is small but it was adequate for us and our 2 cats. Location is fantastic. 10 minute drive to Tofte, 15 minute drive to Grand Marais.
