I learned that they no longer sell to the public. It’s sad because I’ve bought from them before. I don’t have to be a certified contractor to work in my own Air conditioner and all I needed was a motor. They explained it changed 4 years ago. But what made it bad was one of the 2 at the counter as I was walking out sarcastically made a sigh of wow. That was unprofessional. They lost 400.00 sale today. I found a motor and a fan and was up and running in an hour.
I buy my air filters at Solar (they have a lot of the hard-to-find sizes) and they're always friendly and helpful. They are a wholesale HVAC supply house and do not sell parts to the general public. These people writing all this negative stuff probably just can't handle being told 'no'.
I think it was more ignorance than ill-intent, but the guy behind the counter couldn’t verify my certification and wouldn’t sell me a part. Went to a supply shop in Longview, didn’t need to verify there because I buy from them on occasion, but I asked the guy how he would verify someone. He took my NATE card, ran my NATE ID number through NATE website and verified my certification, including my EPA 608 Universal.
