My elderly father was brought by ambulance after a fall which fractured his eye socket. Everyone was very nice, and he had multiple scans and x-rays and workups to rule out any other injuries or issues. But basic care and comfort was overlooked. He should immediately have been given an ice pack to help control pain and swelling. It was hours before he got one, and we had to ask for it. I will be contacting patient relations regarding Dr Mitchell Garey, & if nothing is taken care of I will proceed to go higher. My husband was sent home, & when I said patients have rights, & I would like him admitted, he says if you stay I will keep him back here doing unnecessary tests, & several times he was saying it's not up for me to decide, he bullied my husband into going home who could barely comprehend, or respond correctly, who was shaking with pain, he wasn't given anything that would bring his pain level down. 4-2-26: Nurses in the Emergency department are terrible..Doctors were nice, but you could tell my nurse needed a lot more training, she was very inattentive to my needs, and care and was overall just very unprofessional. I was not updated about my care, or the plans. On top of the nurses being unprofessional , I was placed in a room with NOTHING but a bed in it. This was a joke. They acted like they cared that I had a pretty severe injury. Then ignored me for hours, refused pain control. I begged for a nurse, got a text saying I was being discharged. No one gave me test result. Big fat joke

If I could give 0 stars, I would. If you look online on social media the ER NURSES at SOIN are more worried about having photo shoots in the patients rooms, and taking selfies and posting social media, than worrying about their patients. On top of that, From the horrible management in the E.R, horrible Charge Nurses ( especially the night shift), rude and careless nurses, this place is NOT the place to go.
