The ribeye is amazing and is the prine recommendation. Definitely get some of the tahdig. Their date salad was alright. We had their cardomom rose cake and their saffron Persian ice cream. The ice cream was great and the cake was nice and subtle on the sweet. On the sinks side, I liked their take on the martini. They also had a citrusy spicy cocktail that was fun Service was great all around
This was a highly recommended restaurant to me by a friend but I walked away with a very subpar experience. The service and hospitality definitely need work. We were told kitchen is closing at 9:30 immediately upon seating - ok so why even accept a 9:15 reservation I made a few days prior? Our menu choices were criticized for not ordering balanced flavor profiles….that was a first, I’ve never been told I’m ordering wrong things. Dinner at Sofreh made my day. The food is so flavorful, which gives me many surprises! The entire dinner was an experience because he portion is shareable and they came in order. I love the mushroom dish, the artichoke purée became the soul of this dish. The steak is definitely a highlight, they don’t ask you how you wanted it to be cooked because they know the best! Saffron ice cream as the dessert is a must :) I can’t wait to come back to try more!
While the food was decent and I had no complaints the service needs a ton of work. While waiting in line the group in front of me had one person drop out, and the woman who sits them was giving them a hard time about it because they “should have called” to let them know. Part of hospitality is making the customer feel welcomed. Giving them a hard time because they don’t call to let you know one person wasn’t coming isn’t the right way to greet your guest.
