We have been in the Astoria community for over 10 years and have an excellent working relationship with other resources and service providers. I can't say enough good things about Social Work Counseling Services!! Shari helped me through the most difficult time in my life. I will never go anywhere else for counseling. Shari is a wonderful therapist. She's understanding, kind, professional, and I've never felt judgement from her. She has very insightful and thoughtful responses. If you get her as your therapist consider yourself lucky! I know I do.
I don't understand how Melinda Romeo got her license to be a counselor. She had NO patience, she raised her voice at me, and she ganged up on me with my fiance as if she was trying to turn us against each other. She didn't help us at all. Instead she made things worse. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure clients are not supposed to be treated that way. I cancelled all of our future sessions. I'm not going back there to be treated that way and not receive any help on top of that. I'm done.
