My son had ssi for disabled child for 2 years and i always turned in income. At the start of getting ssi i was told mine and my wifes student loans, income tax, and pel grants did not count as income. It also states on there disabled child in home application that it does not count as income. However, after 2 years his check was cut and I was told I owed them 13k in back pay for there worker not doing her job and because they counted student loans, pel grants, and income tax as income which isn't suppose to be counted.
