I called 5+ times before 3pm and kept getting transferred to "New Eligiblity" for financial assistance. Every time I was transferred, all it would say is I got connected to Cisco Unity, then "Goodbye" and hangs up. I called multiple times and told the representatives this and specifically asked them to get a live person on the phone and then connect me. I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by my experience at this Social Security office. The treatment we received was not only unprofessional, but also blatantly discriminatory. Staff required documentation that is not listed anywhere in the official SSA guidelines—requirements that they did not ask of other (white) individuals being helped at the same time.
