I feel compelled to make a comment about Dr. Rocco Crino at the SOCAD practice to balance some of the reviews I have read, as they certainly are not our experience over 10 years in relation to our son's treatment. We had dealt with four psychologists over seven years, paying money for no result. A consultation at the Black Dog Institute had the problem diagnosed correctly for the first time, as OCD with severe depression. There are 2 kinds of patients when it comes to OCD. The first kind is willing to do whatever it takes to manage their symptoms as much as this is possible, and the second kind aren’t willing or simply cannot do the intended exposure therapy that’s necessary for improvement. I find the criticisms in some of these reviews of Dr Crino disappointing. To suggest that he lacks empathy is inaccurate and a mischaracterisation.
