Just recently took possession of the fully reconditioned and rebuilt engine out of my Hilux sr5 that SMS Diesel Lidcombe had taken on board. The new engine is brilliant…. quiet, fuel-efficient and powerful; a bit different to when I took it into them. Very professional people who obviously know what they’re doing. Great job.
Warning‼️ You pay for what you get! First 4JJ1 purchased failed within a few 1000km due to cheap internal bearing failure. SMS blamed the factory Isuzu tune which the original motor lasted a few 100 thousand kms. No warranty, purchased another from SMS Second motor failed within another few 1000km with heavy oil consumption. Replaced under warranty with an unnecessary arm wrestles.
