Thank goodness for Summer and Smooth Sailing Breastfeeding!! I was in tears after bringing home my newborn - breastfeeding was extremely painful, and I had so many questions about breastfeeding/formula/pumping. Summer saved our breastfeeding journey! I was 12 hours away from never breastfeeding my son again. We were told by numerous healthcare providers (including another lactation consultant) that everything was fine with my son because he was gaining weight. However, everything was NOT okay. Contacting Summer was the best thing I've done since having Eloise. Eloise had reflux where she was choking on her spit up. I was "sleeping" upright with her at night, and she would arch her back in pain after feeds. Summer came to my home on our initial visit and made a referral for a tongue tie exam. They day after the tongue tie revision, Eloise was a different baby. She was more relaxed and the choking slowly went away. Summer has provided some great resources as well. Summer is amazing! She was a huge help the week after my little girl was born, almost a year ago. She provided me with the tools and confidence needed to successfully breastfeed, despite the self-doubt I was experiencing. Summer was truly and angel sent to save me and my breastfeeding journey. I was extremely panicking, overwhelmed and dealing with baby blues on a Sunday morning. I reached out to a mom's group to find a Lactation consultant and I got a couple referrals. Summer responded back IMMEDIATELY to my cry for help. Not only that, she was in my house that same Sunday afternoon on a last minute call. I will forever be grateful!
