Due to my addiction to unreliable vehicles, I’ve had to deal with a lot of mechanics in my time. This shop is one of the only I’d ever describe as “honest” and the only I would ever describe as “well priced” I’ve sent a lot of people here now and it’s a recommendation they have all appreciated.
Extremely poor service within2 month battery blew up!!!
I took my Holden Commodore VU to Smooth Drive Automotive for a roadworthy and to get a new alternator installed by my mate Bailey, who works there. Not long after, the alternator completely failed. The voltage regulator went bad and spiked the system to 19 volts for maybe a minute or two. That was enough to blow the top off the battery and spray battery acid all through my engine bay, wrecking plastics, ignition leads, and other parts. So ill just get straight to the point. I am a fully qualified automotive electrician, and my experience with Smooth Drive Automotive — specifically Bailey — was extremely disappointing. My mate Dylan (who is actually friends with Bailey) took his Holden Commodore VU in for a roadworthy and to have an alternator fitted by Bailey.
