I'm not sure what happened last fall, but this company seems to have lost the script. I'd been with them for years, service was great. Then last fall the pickups became sporadic. From Thanksgiving until January, one 1 pickup. I had bags sitting on the ground next to the full bin. I finally canceled my account in January. I got bills February and March, which I didn't pay. I think an email or text from them would have been the respectable thing to do, just to let me know what's up.
Over the last year, they have done a good job. The last month, for whatever reason, has been awful! As of now, they have missed three straight weeks of pick up. Luckily, we run it to one of the convenience centers. As a business, even when things are tough, they should reach out and communicate with all of their clients. We should not have to go on their website to find new details regarding service, which, they will not abide by anyway. We’ve been with them for several years. At first they were great and consistent. But over the course of the last few months, we’ve had numerous times where they’ve missed pickup. The most disappointing part however, is the lack of communication when this occurs. Life happens and stuff comes up, but as a business owner you’ve got to clearly communicate your reschedule plans to your customers. We have used Smokey Valley since 2021 with only a few instances that the truck was down or he had a terrible injury. We continue with them. However since November 1 we have had trash picked up twice. I have called- can’t leave a message cause their mailbox is full. I have text, no response! I have sent the formal cancellation of service in-no response! It was good for the first seven years and then something drastically changed. Pick up became sporadic, then bills came, but no service we went over a month without a pick up. We tried to call numerous times. Then we canceled service as directed on the website and still continued receiving bills. We still have the can still waiting on them to pick it up. It’s been four months.
