Opened in 1951, The Smokehouse is a burger shack that makes their burgers on high flamed grills. Though their patties are thinner, patrons swear by their taste. They also have more than 15 varieties of milkshakes. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors but bring cash along as credit cards are not accepted.

rat and mouse haven – Food is good, but just walk behind the building and look at all the rats and mice by the trash bins. This place is a mecca for rodents.
I love and hate this place. – This place has great burgers -- not gourmet burgers -- but smallish, flamebroiled, late-night, slightly too many condiments, toasted bun, shredded lettuce, greasy goodness burgers. And they have great fries and shakes. But the price is simply outrageous. A few years back, they were reasonably priced. But they've slowly inched their prices up and they have hidden burger fees (like "deluxe" -- which basically means standard). Most significantly, they have no combo pricing!!! Cheeseburger, fries, a... read more
Not enough meat, no taste too – I tried this joint becaus eof all the great reviews. Man was I disappointed! At first I saw how small the patties were on the grill. I thought, maybe it tastes good since everyone is raving about this. Well, I just finished a double and I'm still hungry. I had to add a ton of salt to my fries because my burger didn't have a taste. Even In-n-Out, Nations or the jumbo jack at Jack in the Box has more flavor. this palce has been compared to Barneys but I refuse to pay that much for a burger. No t... read more
Editorial Review by Christy Buena – Cheap all-American dishes draw locals into the dive burger eatery for chicken sandwiches, charbroiled burgers, fries and shakes.
Greatest Hamburgers in the Western World – Been going there for over 40 years, and it's still everyone's first choice for a burger. Friendly service, not expensive, open late, and the greatest hamburgers in the Western World. Yeah, they're greasy, but who bills a real burger as health food? Great value! Highly recommend. Casual, picnic benches, "inside" is outside covered and comfortable.
User review by heartxless – greasy burgers, okay fries, awesome milkshakes. it's cheap, affordable, filling, and delicious. it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy your meal on a summer evening.
Mmmm...that smell! – You can't miss the Smokehouse. The smell of the grill wafts around along that part of Telegraph and draws you in. The hamburgers and hot dogs are fantastic. The shakes and malts come in flavors not usually found with fast food -- chocolate-banana, caramel, butterscotch, pineapple, for example. The fries are big and crispy. It's open late, so you can take care of that burger jones without having to hunt down a late-night drive-through.
Smokehouse has a 4.4 star rating with 1,671 reviews.
Smokehouse is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
