I had the misfortune of having to go to this place three times to pass smog. I like to think of myself as a reasonable person and as such I understand that customer service is less a priority in an establish the government mandates people go to but with the exception of one individual, each person seemed less inclined to help than the last and the one I was most tired of interacting with was the face of the business, the person behind the glass at the counter. Very efficient, in and out in 15-20 minutes. They know what they are doing .
DO NOT GO HERE. There are many other places to get smog done in Santa Cruz. Don't give them your service. I took my car in for a smog check and felt like I got scammed. My transmission was replaced the day before and they said I failed smog because the car was not driven far enough for the sensors to give a proper reading. They charged me the full price for a false negative on the smog check and they offered to do another test after I drove it 60 miles for 30% off... Got in first thing in the AM and found 7 others with the same idea! Got the smog check done in an appropriate amount of time. Try to get yourself an appointment, if not try later in the morning.
Excellent, fast, efficient, friendly and prices haven't changed for 2 years, still $50 with their $5 coupon that is readily available.
