Smit’s funeral Home was amazing. They took care of every detail that needed to be done. Contacted the Pastor, provided special music, was very knowledgeable when making arrangements. Even let us add more pictures at the last minute. The Funeral Home was very clean, well maintained, and very nicely decorated. My family has used them ever since I can remember, and they’ve always done an excellent job.
I recently faced the heartbreaking loss of my grandpa. He passed at home late at night and we were unable to get a hold of the funeral home with which we had a pre-paid plan. I contacted Smits Funeral Home after being turned down by other local funeral homes. Tim Smits agreed to come and pick up my grandpa’s body and hold it until our other funeral home could come to pick it up. Smits funeral home in Dyer was wonderful to deal with during such a difficult time. Tim was amazing from initial meeting throughout the entire process. I truly cannot thank him enough for his understanding, kindness, and the added details that he executed that meant so much to our family. We are deeply grateful to Tim & Smits Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion during an incredibly difficult time. Tim went above and beyond to help us transfer our daughter Malak from the hospital to her final resting place — without charging us anything. He made two trips to the hospital and patiently waited for the necessary paperwork to be completed, all with grace and respect. We will never forget this act of generosity and humanity.
