Smits funeral home in Dyer was wonderful to deal with during such a difficult time. Tim was amazing from initial meeting throughout the entire process. I truly cannot thank him enough for his understanding, kindness, and the added details that he executed that meant so much to our family. We are deeply grateful to Tim & Smits Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion during an incredibly difficult time. Tim went above and beyond to help us transfer our daughter Malak from the hospital to her final resting place — without charging us anything. He made two trips to the hospital and patiently waited for the necessary paperwork to be completed, all with grace and respect. We will never forget this act of generosity and humanity. Our family has been dealing with Smits Funeral Home services through several generations and will continue to seek their experience and knowledge in the future. Having been to many funerals my appreciation starts when I walk in the door. The general open area, when you walk in, is bright but not overstated. It’s uplifting not dark and sad. Worst experience ever went with Smith's Funeral home because my family had used them in the past and everything went great but this time I don't know what happened went there to have my father's services requested over 200 hundred cards and they only ordered $100 ordered a gold cross necklace that now we're finding out today never got ordered even though we requested it more than once to be ordered second time we requested that it was ordered was when I went and paid for my dad's services due to the Life insurance company cu... read more
