Have you heard about dawn clutch needle bearings? They are designed in such a manner that the torque between the housing and the shaft can be transmitted in one direction.

An electric motor with a frame size of less than 35mm square is often referred to as a "micro-motor." Micro-motors are used in power tools, small kitchen appliances, and even cell phones to generate the vibrating alert.

It’s said that the first ever use of a bearing was back when the Egyptians were building the pyramids. The put round logs under the heavy stones so that they could roll them to the building site.

In a permanent magnet DC motor, the poles are made out of permanent magnets to product the stator field. These motors offer several advantages. Since no external filed circuit is needed, there are no field circuit copper losses; and since no filed windings are needed, the motors can be considerably smaller.

Brinelling is when a material fails due to contact stress that exceeds the material limit. Failure occurs after a single load exceeding the material limit is applied. A dent or “brinell” mark is the result and is a common failure of roller bearings. A bearing’s static load rating is clearly defined to avoid such failures.

The earliest known illustration of a suction pump was made by Italian engineer Mariano Taccola in 1433. By 1480, the basic concept had been refined by other engineers and inventors, and in the early 1500s, suction pumps were being used in German mining operations.

Subsurface initiated fatigue is one of the most common damages of ball bearings. Choosing the right bearing for the actual application condition is the best way to avoid such damage.

Make sure you select the right pump for the job. Some pumps are designed only for short operational periods and will overheat if used too long. If you need a pump to operate for long periods or continuously, select one rated for that task.

Oxidation of steel leads to rusting and corrosion. This is triggered by a number of environmental factors. A bearing has a properly sealed mechanism in place to ensure that the bearing is not affected by this oxidation.
