I had a similar experience with University of Michigan reproductive clinic in Ann Arbor. I met my doctor only once - and it was on the day of the egg retrieval in the surgery room for five minutes before I was given anastesia. During the whole treatment I was communicating with nurses via portal. Sometimes their responses were conflicting. And yes...I had a couple of students training on me. One did my ultrasound.
I expected a UofM dr to make me feel comfortable & confident in their service. My experience with Dr Smith has been none of this! My vists were long not because of the amount of time she spent with me explaining my options for fertility treatment but bc several residents came in asking the same personal & embarrassing questions. When I asked for information I was directed to a website. When starting treatments, I asked about success they told me to look at the required numbers published online.
