This office really needs to stop calling patients 7–10 minutes before their appointment to say their insurance won’t cover the visit. This has happened to me twice this year. Not everyone has $350–$400 just sitting around ($200 for the visit plus the cost of my frames). Yesterday, I had a 10:00 AM appointment and got a call at 9:53 AM, literally as I was pulling into the parking lot telling me my insurance wouldn’t cover the visit. I was blindsided. Dr. Smilen and the office staff provide safe compassionate quality care. He takes care of my eyes and my family is under his care too. Excellent customer service.
