Avoid! I don't say this lightly but Smartcare completely messed up the government rebate program and refused to admit their mistake. Communication is great up until the work has been done - after that, silence. I know they've done this to other customers as well. In short, Smartcare came to install a heat pump and charged for air sealing as well after explicitly telling me it would be covered by the government rebate program (this is mentioned in the contract). Highly disappointed in the the thermal pump system installed by Smartcare. Advertised as high efficiency and would reduce my costs, Instead my hydro usage bills doubled and gas bill increased by 50%. System runs continuously, won't stop. I've been complaining since install. No one from the company can give me a reason why instead, they want me to pay $250 + tax to get a diagnosis. We had a heat pump and air sealing installed by Smartcare Home Services. The sales representative was very knowledgeable and helpful and explained the process clearly. The installation team was there within a couple of days and we were up and running. We can say we have seen a significant changes in our gas bill.

We got a heat pump from this company and everything was good at first. We were told we would be shown how to work it but no one showed us after the install. They installed it and everything seemed fine until spring came and we had to call and get them to come back because it hadn't been wired properly. They fixed it and it worked through the summer then when the colder weather came it seemed to be blowing cold air before the heat kicked in.
