Do not use this contractor! We contracted with K. Halicki (Smart Choice Construction) in early 2023 to perform renovations in our condominium including a total kitchen remodel and the installation of LVP flooring throughout the entire condo. He is not reliable. The job took 2 to 3 times as long as it should have. Maybe that’s because it seemed that they never arrived at work before 10 or worked after 2:30. We hired Smart Choice because they did a good very similar job for our neighbor - at the time Kris worked largely alone with an occasional sub-contractor. Kris did little work on our job and used poor subcontractors. A brief list of the things that went wrong: the new block walls when filled with concrete as required literally exploded (made a huge mess and delayed the job as the problem needed to be fixed), the newly poured floor was too low and quite uneven, We needed 3 new hurricane windows, the major one came in far to l... read more
