I brought my dog to the TAMU Small Animal Vet Clinic hoping for expert care, but unfortunately, the experience left me feeling more taken advantage of than taken care of. Just the initial visit which included some basic diagnostics cost me nearly $1,000. That alone was shocking. But the real surprise came when I was quoted over $12,000 for a procedure. This place is fantastic. If your dog has issues nobody can handle or find, this is the place you need. They saved our puppy, and he's finally getting healthy and being a normal dog. They are also excellent at communicating and following up. I live in the Houston area, but the drive there is worth it.
A few months ago my less than 2 year old dog lost her ability to stand, walk and even move. We live north of Dallas and the only place my primary vet trusted to get her treated was TAMU. We decided then to take her there upon arrival midway through checking in with the front desk a vet came up asked if it was her and wisped her away because it was very time sensitive. Best staff all around
They only care about $$ not animals or people. It's impossible to get an appointment with primary care. They will not try to work a sick animal into their schedule, instead they will make you go to the ER, $250 just to walk in the door. I was told for my cat with an eye infection that I couldn't get an appointment for over 3 weeks, I could take her to the ER. I was told that would be $250 just to be seen and up to $800 stabilize her just for an eye infection. I'm addition,they do not care about people's time. The last time I... read more
