Ok I will be super honest about this. I took 3 classes to try out the method. It felt like a hardcore version of pilates, with much more intensity and speed in transitions. I will definitely come back, I loved and appreciated the challenge. Although, instructors wise: I had my first with Lizzie Crowley, she does not care if you live or die, I am sure I was doing a lot of exercises wrong (she knew it was my first time) and there wasn’t a single time that she corrected me. I gotta be honest, I had an unpleasant experience here several years ago. Initially I didn't leave a review, but now I see new locations open and I wanted to share my story. I purchased the starter pack of 2 classes, and the instructor was very absent, didn't explain any movements enough that I could understand how to successfully execute them (it was my first and last time on the reformer) but talked a lot about her personal life, her fiancee, and their upcoming vacation. Lagree lover here who visited this studio while in town. Clean, friendly staff, lots to love. Danielle was my instructor and she was knowledgeable and kind. Gave great cues and options to modify while saying that modifying is perfectly fine to do. Loved the inclusivity and kindness. Only minor gripe is the cost for a drop in class but it’s NYC. Loved my experience.
