Unbelievable is the word for the Skyline Lodge & Altitudes Restaurant...constructed of Redwood and Granite, begun in 1929 in the Frank Lloyd Wright tradition. Completed in 1965, Skyline offers a magnificent forty mile view and nestled 4,300 feet atop of Flat Mountain overlooking the banks of Big Creek's cascading waterfalls. From the comfortable rooms with balconies and beautiful views to the scrumptious meals at Altitudes , it's definitely a part of Highlands that should be visited and revisited !

Rustic charm, natural beauty, fine dining, sky full of stars and super close to Highlands shopping, dining and waterfalls.
Don’t stay at a room off of courtyard. Music was entirely too loud till 11pm then kids playing till late. Ask to be moved which was much better for next 3 nights! Need a floor lamp for more light and better pillows. Hated the polyester pillows, only feather and down like The Park on Main for me.
Skyline Lodge was absolutely perfect for my little family of 3 (my husband and our newborn daughter). They even set up a pack and play for us when we arrived. The room, view, and service were top notch. The rooms include heated tile floors in the bathroom, a mini fridge, safe, a very comfortable bed, fireplace, and outdoor patio area. The wait staff set up fires for us at night, brought us drinks outside from the bar, had lattes and handmade pastries available for purchase in the mornings and overall just made our experience... read more
OK, I'm giving you five stars because of the people and the cleanliness. If you're looking for an affordable place, that's clean to stay. It is great for that. However, I hope the owners do see this because I'm not one of those people that are going to put a low rating on here off of a little nitpick. Get some new mattresses. 😂 That was the hardest mattress I think I have ever laid on in my life. You could feel the springs.
